A small glazed ceramic dish for the things that otherwise end up loose on a surface: rings, earrings, a watch, keys. The raised centre holds rings upright instead of letting them roll to the edge.
The green glaze pools slightly toward the rim, so the colour is deeper at the edges than the centre. That is a characteristic of glazing rather than a print, and it means no two dishes are identical.
It is heavy enough for its size that it stays put when you drop something into it, which a lighter tray will not.
